“The Family Health Center’s dedication is outstanding. Year after year, its physicians, nurses and staff continue to maintain an excellent standard of care by addressing patient tobacco use, advising patients to quit and assisting them with the quitting process,” said Jeri Bosman, Outreach Specialist at the Cessation Center.
“Quitting is the number one positive action a smoker can take for his or her health,” said Dr. Ephraim Back, Medical Director of Ellis’ Family Health Center. We know that quitting is hard to do but with help from the New York State Smokers’ Quitline and your health care provider, patients can be successful.”
In 2011, Ellis Family Health Center faxed 175 referrals to the NYS Smokers’ Quitline. The award presented by the Center for Smoking Cessation commends these efforts and the dedication of the healthcare staff that serve Ellis’ Family Health Center.
