Continuing Education

 

Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners can earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit through their New York State Tobacco Cessation Centers. Currently, three CME-approved programs are available. Dental contact hours are also available.

 

Performance Improvement Project (20 CME)

Accredited through the University at Buffalo and based on the PHS Clinical Practice Guideline for Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence (2008 Update), benchmarks of this program include standard of care assessment, learning goals, and process improvement.

 

Self-Study Booklet (1 CME)

This program is designed to facilitate adoption of evidence-based practices in tobacco treatment, as described in the PHS Clinical Practice Guideline for Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence (2008 Update). Available upon request call 518 459-2550.

 

Statewide Collaborative Conference Calls

(1 hour of various types of continuing education credit offered depending on content of call)
