Treatment is available to help people quit smoking ... and it works.
Effective treatment of tobacco use has been shown to prevent and reduce disease and premature death caused by smoking. Still, 70 percent of smokers want to quit, but never get the assistance they need – and most will relapse after trying to quit on their own.
Why? They didn’t know there was help available.
As the leading cause of preventable death, smoking kills 25,500 New Yorkers and 430,000 Americans every year. Our community just can’t afford to let this happen to us anymore.
That’s where we come in.
